Why is Re-mapping timely?

The Re-Mapping project is timely because:  i) today, it is well documented that early leaving from education & training leads to increased likelihood of unemployment, poverty, social exclusion & political alienation , ii). Still one in four adults in Europe is caught in a low skills trap facing challenges dealing with the instability of the labor market. iii.) Children were the age group at the highest risk of poverty or social exclusion in 2014 (27,8% in EU-28). iv). Educational inequality has spatial characteristics with millions been left behind. v). The number of refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs) and asylum seekers in EU soil, having different or violently ruptured representational spaces and imagined geographies, has risen significantly the last years.
